Ringwood offers a number of bookable facilities and children’s play areas. This section provides details along with links to some local sports clubs.
The concrete Skate Park, constructed by Maverick Industries, was opened in February 2016 and is located on Carvers Recreation Ground in Southampton Road (BH24 1JD).
The young people of the town raised over £3,000 towards the park, which cost a total of £150,000. They played a big part in choosing the final design and will be recruiting a ‘Maintenance Crew’ to keep it clear for users and demonstrate their commitment to the project.
A Skate Jam was held on 23 April 2016 to celebrate the official opening of the new Skate Park. A video of the event, with aerial filming by a drone, has been produced by Simon Wythe of Desire RC Ltd
The Council has made a grant aid award of £2,000 to Ringwood Junior School PTA (click on the photo for details).
Many Ringwood business owners believe that the big companies or online retailers might not even notice your purchases over the next few weeks but the small, independently owned businesses located conveniently on your high street or in your local town will. This Christmas, they want you to believe in the magic of shopping locally - so you can make your town or village merry and bright for many more for years to come.
All residents are invited to complete a short anonymous survey about how safe you feel in the town and what concerns you might have about crime and antisocial behaviour.
