Accessibility statement for www.ringwood.gov.uk

This website is run by Ringwood Town Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader

We have also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

Accessibilty of this website 

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible. For example:

  • some older PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software
  • some pages do not include a “skip to main content” function
  • live video streams do not include captions

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 AA standard due to the issues listed above. We are aware that some content may not yet meet accessibility standards and are working to address this where reasonably practicable.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We are working with our web provider to improve accessibility across the website. This includes:

  • reviewing page templates and navigation
  • improving document accessibility
  • addressing known technical issues where possible

Accessibility is reviewed periodically as part of the Council’s ongoing website and governance arrangements.

Residents invited to comment on proposals for New Forest District Local Plan

Residents are invited to comment on early proposals for the new Local Plan from New Forest District Council, including a potential new housing site south of Moortown Lane that could bring additional homes to the town. A public drop-in event will take place on Friday 27 February, 1pm–7pm at Ringwood Gateway, where residents can learn more, ask questions and share their views.
