The Town Council supported local young people over the summer by running a Skate Jam and partnering with Ethical Activities Community Interest Company (CIC) to offer the Carvers Kayak Club. These programs provided safe, educational, and enjoyable opportunities for youth aged 9 to 15, encouraging skill development and community engagement.

A planning application for a development of over 400 houses on land off Moortown Lane was due to be considered by New Forest District Council’s Planning Committee on 10 July but was removed from the agenda at the 11th hour. One of the reasons given was the recent adoption of the Ringwood Neighbourhood Plan by the authority, which must be taken into consideration when determining planning applications as it is now part of the Development Plan.

We are delighted to announce that residents voted overwhelmingly in favour of the Ringwood Neighbourhood Plan at the Referendum held on 4 July 2024.  The resounding “yes” vote means the Plan will now be adopted and used by New Forest District Council and New Forest National Park Authority when determining planning applications.
