Ringwood Winter Wanderland
Ringwood Events Team and Ringwood Town Council are delighted to bring you our very own Ringwood Winter Wanderland.
Walking trails around the Town will showcase winter displays in shops, businesses and homes as well of course as the wonderful Town Christmas Lights.
But don’t take our word for it – here is someone who can explain it much better (https://youtu.be/Zae8gdCwsDE
And we will also be supporting and promoting other initiatives in Ringwood such as collecting toys and gifts for the Rotary Christmas appeal for disadvantaged children and a Drive-In Service organised by Churches Together.
Christmas Window Display Competition
This year the window display competition is open to all businesses and organisations in the town, not just the town centre.
In return for your efforts and wonderful displays we will print photos of entries in the Ringwood and Fordingbridge news and will be asking the public to vote for their favourite.
The winner will be announced on the 20th December.
UPDATE: due to the recent changes in restrictions, the dates for the Window competition have been revised to ensure that all who want to can take part.
The deadline for entry is 30th November, but please do enter earlier if possible.
The public vote will begin 7th December and we will take photos on the 7th, 8th and 9th December so please do have your windows ready by then for inclusion in the competition. Good luck!
Christmas Lights Switch On
We are in advanced discussions with Father Christmas who, based in Lapland is not currently subject to travel restrictions.
He has agreed to pay a flying visit to Ringwood to help us turn the lights on and to make sure no-one misses this spectacular event.
Ringwood TV will be on hand to record this momentous occasion for all to view on social media.
The date will be announced soon but the lights will be on before the national restrictions end on 2nd December.
Spot the Oddity
If you are not familiar with the competition, participating shops display what are sometimes very odd ‘Oddities’ in their shop windows.
The idea of the competition is to identify something ‘Odd’ in a participating window and to write this onto the entry form.
Prizes will be vouchers to spend in local shops- more information to come!
Make a window display
If you can, please decorate your windows during December so you and your neighbours can wander around your neighbourhood and enjoy the wonderful decorations.
These do not have to be expensive decorations or lights; they can be anything you like.
Simple or elaborate, everything counts.
We will be posting ideas on our facebook page over the coming weeks to give you some inspiration.
Show us your window displays!
Come December, tag your efforts on our social media pages – Facebook/ringwoodwinterwanderland, Instagram/ringwoodtowncouncil and twitter/ringwoodtowncouncil.
Any enterprise wishing to offer a donation to Events Team funds will be listed in order of donation value but no sum will be made public.
We also invite financial support from any and all Ringwood businesses as an event sponsor to be named in all event Christmas associated published material and allowed display of a company banner in the Market Place area for the duration of the Christmas tree display.
