Members of the public are invited to view the Act of Remembrance from the Ringwood War Memorial online this year due to restrictions on public gatherings.

This replaces the usual plans for Remembrance Day including Church Services, the parade through town and the service at the War Memorial being ‘open’ to the general public.

The Act of Remembrance will be live streamed to the Ringwood TV Facebook page (@ringwoodtvuk) from 10:45am on Sunday 8th November and made available on the Town Council website in the days following (ringwood.gov.uk).

Followers online should log in from 10:45am when they will be able to view a short film recorded in the days leading up to the 8th showing other Acts of Remembrance in the town at the War Graves, for the Normandy Veterans and wreath laying at the War Memorial from organisations who would normally be present at the service.

The service at the War Memorial will begin at 10:55am with a short prayer.

This is followed by the Act of Remembrance which consists of the Exhortation, the Last Post sounded at 11am and the observance of the two-minute silence.

The Reveille will be sounded, and Kohima Exhortation recited.

Wreaths will be laid on behalf of the Royal British Legion and Ringwood Town Council to add to those laid in the days preceding.

The organisers are requesting that the public do not attend the War Memorial on Sunday 8th November from 10:30am to 11:30am to allow for the service to go ahead.

Individuals and organisations wishing to place wreaths and individual tributes at the War Memorial have been invited to do so before the service.
