Following on from a successful 2014 Christmas event, Ringwood Town Council is already looking to the next Christmas event on Saturday 5th December 2015.
Part of the activities leading up to the Switch-On will include a ‘Design a Christmas Card’ competition where local residents, schools and organisations will be invited to design a Christmas Card for the town to be sold in the lead up to the Christmas event.
The competition will see the 4 best entries sold from the Visitor Information Centre and the design placed 1st in the competition will be the card sent out to over 100 partners and local business organisations within the town and New Forest area.
The individual winning design will also have the opportunity to ‘switch on the lights’ on the night in front of thousands of spectators, where more lights will have been added to the already growing display.
Town Mayor of Ringwood, Councillor Barbara Woodifield said ‘There is a wealth of talent within the town and we want to encourage the participation of residents in local activities and reward those efforts appropriately. I hope everyone will have a go in the competition’.
The competition is free to enter but is only open to residents and organisations based in the town.
Rules and entry forms can be obtained by contacting the Town Council directly. The deadline for entries is 25 September 2015.
