Carvers Clubhouse in Ringwood has a new Parent/Carer baby group set up for those who have had babies in 2020 and been unable to socialise and receive mutual support from other new parents due to COVID-19.

‘Carvers Tiny Tots’, which is weekly on a Thursday at 10am has been so popular that a new session on a Wednesday morning will begin on 2nd December.

Charmaine Bennett, who manages the Centre said, “we recognise that new parents have been negatively impacted by lockdown and it can be a very isolating experience at the best of times.

We are pleased to be able to offer this service to local parents and carers and it has been wonderful to see the parents and young babies at the centre.”

Attendance must be booked as numbers are very limited due to social distancing inside the centre.

Most of the services at the Clubhouse have closed during the current national restrictions except for some 1-2-1 sessions with a Youth Advisor run by local charity It’s Your Choice.

These support sessions are permitted to run as are seen as vital for young people’s mental health.

The staff at the centre are looking forward to re-opening on the 2nd December.

The popular café will be transformed during school hours for parents and young children who may wish to come and enjoy Christmas crafts, a special menu and a Christmassy atmosphere.

Given how much is cancelled this year, the team is looking forward to being able to offer some festive fun in December.

They continue to be open after school Wednesday to Friday for young people who are enjoying the skate park until dusk and Saturdays when the weather is decent.

Anyone interested in attending either the craft sessions or Tiny Tots can email carversclubhouse@ringwood.gov.uk or call the centre on 01425 501309 and the team will respond when they can.
