With a mere 4 months to go until Christmas, Ringwood Town Council is already promoting its activities to the community to ensure maximum participation and awareness of its newest event.

On Saturday 6th December the town will have its very own Christmas Switch on, with new Christmas lights and tree, lantern parade, fair rides, Santa’s Grotto and guaranteed snow.

The new Town Clerk for Ringwood and organiser of the event, Mr Steve Nash, said ‘this should be a great event for Ringwood and we hope the new lights will be well received. There is still a lot to do but we just hope that people will turn out in large numbers to enjoy the event’.

Included in the day’s activities will be an Elf Workshop for young children, sweets being given out by naughty elves, choirs and singers on a stage in the market place and local charity and business stalls along the high street.

Newly appointed Mayor for Ringwood Mrs Barbara Woodifield said ‘It’s an exciting time for me to be Mayor, especially being in a position to rejuvenate our popular Christmas activities and other new projects about to get underway. I have always been proud of the community spirit in the town and hope everyone will come and join in with the festivities’.

Those people wanting more details of the event or to book a stall can contact the Town Council on 01425 473883 or e mail town.council@ringwood.gov.uk
