At a recent Town Council meeting, awards were presented to the winners of the 2016 Allotment Competition.

The judging this year was undertaken once again by members of Ringwood Garden Club.

Their representative, Robin Atack, reported that he and his fellow judges looked forward to this task every year, which they very much enjoyed as there were some wonderful plots.

He said it was always interesting to see how tenants coped with difficult weather conditions with the extremes of drought and flood, and a lot of cloudy days this year.

It was good to see some newcomers with winning plots, as well as contenders from previous years who had maintained their high quality.

He congratulated all the winners.

Cllr Andy Briers, Chairman of Recreation, Leisure & Open Spaces Committee, announced the winners and presented prizes as follows:
