A31 Eastbound from Poulner Hill Slip to Picket Post
Kier Highways Ltd, on behalf of Highways England, will be resurfacing a section of the A31 eastbound carriageway from Poulner Hill to Picket Post, to ensure the network remains in a safe and serviceable condition.
Highways England undertakes the majority of resurfacing works on the Strategic Road Network using a lower noise material. This material is thinner than conventional Hot Rolled Asphalt and has qualities which reduces noise levels.
Start date: Monday 6 March 2017*
Duration: 12 nights of the eastbound carriageway, 1 night of the westbound carriageway
Hours of Work: between 10pm and 6am (Monday to Friday only)
Confirmed dates for all closures will be displayed on signs along the A31.
In order to carry out the work as efficiently and safely as possible, we’ll need to fully close the A31 eastbound carriageway from the A338 Ringwood Interchange to Stoney Cross.
During the closures a clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A338, Salisbury and the A36 – this route has been approved due to its suitability for all types of vehicles and where it does not clash with other roadworks.
In addition, we will need to close the westbound carriageway from the M27 to Poulner Hill overnight, to allow the communication sensors within the carriageway to be reconnected.
We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during the works.
*Please be aware that these works have been carefully programmed but are subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
