A31 Road Marking Renewal

Kier Highways, on behalf of Highways England, will be renewing the road markings along the A31 in Hampshire and Dorset during June and July, to ensure road user’s safety.

For the safety of their workforce and customers, they will be closing the A31 overnight (between 9pm and 6am) as follows:

Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 JuneA31 westbound carriageway from junction 2 of the M27 to the A338 Ashley Heath roundabout During the closures a clearly signed diversion will be in place via Lyndhurst, the A35, Christchurch and the A338

Thursday 5 JulyA31 eastbound carriageway from the Palmersford roundabout to the Boundary Lane roundabout During the closures a clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Ringwood Road, East Parley and the A338
Friday 6 JulyA31 westbound carriageway from the Boundary Lane roundabout to the Palmersford roundabout A31 between the Palmersford roundabout and the Boundary Lane roundabout

Access will be maintained for any resident or business where their property is directly off the A31 and for emergency service vehicles only.

Please be aware that these works have been carefully programmed but are subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances – please check the yellow signs placed in advance at the junction for confirmation of the closures dates/timings.

It is not expected that these works will generate excessive noise, however Kier Highways would like to apologise in advance for any disturbance caused during the works.
