T/0086 Minutes
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting held on 16 July 2007, having been previously circulated, be agreed and signed as a correct record.
T/0087 Town Plan Partnership Steering Group
The Committee received and considered the minutes of the Town Plan Partnership Steering Group meeting held on 3 September 2007 (Annex ‘A’).
With regard to item 3, the Committee was advised that investigations in relation to Lynes Farm would be undertaken on a relatively informal basis and not through an extensive advertising campaign. The Head of Planning had been advised of the Steering Group’s proposals in order that he would be aware of the debate being undertaken within the town.
With regard to item 4, it was noted that whilst the contents of the Town Plan would be grouped under topic headings, acknowledgements for the work undertaken would be identified under the name of each focus group.
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the Town Plan Partnership Steering Group held on 3 September 2007 be received and the action proposed therein be approved.
T/0088 Sustainable Business Roadshow
The Project Officer referred to the draft proposal circulated with the agenda and explained that one outcome of the business survey showed that commercial organisations within the town were interested in improving sustainability, not only for the purpose of improving their own productivity and reducing costs, but also as a contribution to the green agenda. Following discussions with Stephen Duncan of the Sustainable Business Partnership, it was proposed that a Sustainable Business Roadshow be held at the Ringwood Town & Country Experience on the morning of 22 November 2007. The Business Partnership would provide speakers together with event material and would meet costs associated with the event thus making it free to local businesses and to the Town Council. Members of the Town Plan Co-ordinating Committee would be invited to the event in order to improve networking arrangements with the business community.
RESOLVED: That the arrangements for the Sustainable Business Roadshow at the Ringwood Town & Country Experience on 22 November 2007 be approved.
T/0089 Next Meeting
It was noted that the next meeting of the Committee was scheduled to be held on Monday 19 November 2007. However, if the final draft of the Town Plan is completed earlier than anticipated, it may be necessary to bring this meeting forward. Any changes of dates would be notified to Members.
The Chairman closed the meeting at 4.30pm.
