A meeting of the above Committee will be held at “Greenways” on Wednesday 1st September 2010 at 7.00pm* or at the conclusion of the public participation session at 7.10pm and your attendance is requested.

*The meeting will be preceded by a public participation period of up to 10 minutes at 7.00pm. If no member of the public wishes to speak to the Council, the meeting will start at 7.00pm.

Members of the public are also entitled to speak during the meeting on individual items on the public agenda in accordance with the Council’s public participation scheme.

APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

1. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

2. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING

To approve as a correct record the minutes of the meeting held on 7th July 2010.

3. ALLOTMENT ASSOCIATION

To receive an update from a member of the new Allotment Association.

4. ALLOCATION OF LAND FOR ALLOTMENTS

To consider applying to the District Council for possible additional allotment provision.

5. RAYMOND BROWN NATURE RESERVE

i) To receive consent from Natural England to the works to provide an access to the Nature Reserve and to authorise the Town Clerk to complete the formal arrangements in connection therewith (see Report A attached);

ii) To authorise the Town Clerk to make arrangements for the acquisition and installation of a suitable Interpretation Board and any other necessary signage relating to the Nature Reserve.

6. COMMUNITY SCHEMES – RAYMOND BROWN CONSTRUCTION

As part of a management development programme for senior managers, Raymond Brown Construction (RBC) has offered to undertake a community project in the town in mid September. In consultation with the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Committee, it has been agreed that RBC should be invited to construct a sensory garden at Ringwood Memorial Gardens. The Chairman, Vice Chairman and a representative of Ringwood British Legion will meet with RBC to agree outputs to be delivered. The Committee is requested to confirm the action taken.

7. REPLACEMENT SLIDE, CARVERS

To consider a replacement slide for Carvers Recreation Ground - see Report B.

8. WINTER PLANTING

The railings planters suffer from significant vandalism, particularly in the winter. The effect is that unless these are replanted, the displays are poor. Members are asked to consider removing the railings planters for the winter period, which will achieve an initial saving of £120.

9. DECEMBER MEETING

To consider rescheduling the 1st December Meeting of this Committee to the 8th December 2010. Note: Town Clerk and Town Mayor will be at a National Conference on 1st December.

10. WEEDKILLER AT CEMETERY

To receive an update on the trial use of weedkiller to control grass/weeds around kerbs and headstones (12.05.10 OS/5214 refers). Town Clerk to report.

11. WOTS BUS

To consider a further approach for consent to park the Word On The Street (WOTS) bus on Carvers Recreation Ground on certain evenings and the extent of the works required to enable this to be achieved.
