*The meeting will be preceded by a public participation period of up to 10 minutes at 7.00pm. If no member of the public wishes to speak to the Council, the meeting will start at 7.00pm.

1. Minutes of the Previous Meeting

To approve as a correct record the Minutes of the Meeting held on 18 June 2008.

2. Financial Reports (attached):

a) To receive and authorise list of payments made on Imprest Account in June

b) To receive and authorise list of Petty Cash payments for June

c) To receive Statement of Town Council Balances

d) To authorise Inter Account Transfers

e) To note the Finance Manager’s report (PDF) and receive Summary Budget Reports for period April 2008 to June 2008

f) To authorise bank signatories and business credit card (PDF)

3. Ringwood Festival

To receive minutes of the meeting of the Ringwood Festival Steering Committee held on 30 June and approve proposals therein (attached - PDF)

4. Grant Aid

To consider the following applications for grant aid (attached)

a) Cruse Bereavement Care

b) Greyfriars – Ebenezer Hall Appeal

5. Invitation to ‘Focusing on Future Forest Access’

To consider an invitation to a New Forest Access Forum workshop which ‘aims to seek creative and local solutions to improvement of access to the countryside in the New Forest’, to be held on 17 September 2008, 10am-3.15pm, at Brockenhurst Village Hall.

6. Community Plans and Hampshire County Council

To receive a report (PDF) from the Town Clerk regarding an invitation to take part in a pilot study during the autumn to facilitate County involvement in local community planning (attached - PDF).

7. Town Plan Distribution

To authorise distribution of free copies of the Town Plan to persons considered to be assisting implementation of the Plan.

8. Folly Farm

To consider the recommendation of the Recreation, Leisure & Open Spaces Committee (OS/5011) see excerpt (attached - PDF).

9. Ice Rink on the Bickerley

To consider suggestion that a ‘plastic ice rink’ is more appropriate for a town of Ringwood’s size than ‘real ice’ with related cost/returns implications.

10. Awards for Councillors and Clerks

To receive an oral report from the Town Clerk on New Forest Association of Local Councils’ proposals for the New Forest District Council to provide awards for outstanding achievement.

11. The Jubilee Lamp, Market Place

To review existing plans to repaint and repair the Lamp (agreed budget provision £750) and consider instead seeking further funding for a full renovation including restoring the original Victorian drinking fountain at the base, to modern standards.
