1. Minutes of the Previous Meeting

To approve as a correct record the minutes of the meeting held on 15 August 2008.

2. Planning Applications

To consider applications received for the periods ending 13 August, 20 August, 27 August and 3 September 2008 (schedule attached).

3. Country Towns Initiative – Southampton Road Environmental Improvements

i) To receive an update on this initiative;

ii) To nominate two members to represent the Town Council to assist in progressing the initiative.

4. Planning Appeal

To note that Mrs Mitchell has submitted an Appeal against New Forest District Council’s decision to refuse Planning Application No 08/92502 for new access at 97 Hightown Road, and consider making representation to the Secretary of State (Grounds of Appeal attached).

5. Town Access Plan

i) To receive notes of Introductory Session held on 14 August (attached);

ii) To appoint one member to sit on the Steering Group (note that the first meeting will be held at 9.30am on 1 October 2008).

6. South East Plan

To consider the Town Clerk’s report on the Secretary of State’s proposed changes to the draft Regional Spatial Strategy for the South East (attached).

7. Hampshire County Freight Strategy

To consider responding to the consultation draft (summary attached). It is suggested that members may wish to support the County Council’s proposals to achieve the aims and objectives of the draft strategy.
