Have your say on plans for future of the Town

This page was last updated on Friday, January 28, 2011

From 28 January to 11 March, New Forest residents are being asked to comment on plans for the district outside the National Park on matters such as housing, employment, town centres, open spaces and transport.

Local public consultation events are being held at community centres and village halls from 2 February where people can find out more about the Sites and Development Management, Development Plan Document.

Proposals on local issues, including housing development and transport links, can be examined and residents will be able make their comments to New Forest District Council planning officers.

NFDC portfolio holder for planning and transportation, Cllr Chris Treleaven, hopes as many local people as possible will view and comment on the plans for the district.

He said: "These proposals have been put together after very careful consideration of how the many suggestions for possible sites put forward to us match our already publicly adopted Core Strategy for the district.

When finalised, the proposed sites and planning policies will affect the future of our localities for everybody in the district in some way."So we want to make sure that they help meet the needs and concerns of the area's residents and businesses in the best way possible.

We need your views to help us achieve this."
