“I am delighted that, in addition to allocating £13,000 towards the employment of a new Youth Worker in Ringwood, the Town Council has now committed £30,000 of capital funds towards the provision of a new youth building in the town” said Cllr Jeremy Heron, Chairman of the Policy & Finance Committee.
“We know the money that we have allocated is insufficient to meet the full costs. The new appointment and the building will depend on us obtaining partnership funding from other authorities, but I am hopeful that this can be achieved”.
Hampshire County Council has previously been supportive of such a provision in the town and it is hoped that this support will continue.
Discussions will be held in the New Year with all interested parties, including the students from Ringwood School who put forward a much bigger proposal earlier in the year. |
