Four creative youngsters from the New Forest have had their design ideas turned into a mega swimming pool inflatable.
Daniel Cutler and sister Alice, and Mollie Perry-Baker and her cousin Austin Bladon, beat off competition from over 70 entrants when Ringwood Health and Leisure asked young people between the age of 8 and 14 to send their ideas for a mega inflatable.
The winning four were able to see their ideas, which included a crocodile’s head, palm tree and waterfall slide, come to life when they enjoyed a free pool party for them and their friends as their prize.
Vice-chairman of New Forest District Council, Councillor Mrs Pat Wyeth, presented the winners with their certificates before their party. “I was very impressed when I saw the mega inflatable; clearly a lot of effort had gone into the design ideas,” she said.
“It was clear to see from meeting the winners that the greatest prize for them was the sense of achievement they felt from seeing their idea turned into something real.”
