Youngsters who helped launch a new children’s group for St John Ambulance Hampshire will be formally welcomed into the charity on Sunday [15 November 2009].
They are founding members of Fordingbridge and Ringwood Badgers - a thriving group of five to ten-year-olds, who learn a range of fun activities, including first aid.
The group will be enrolled into the charity at a service at the Church of St Peter & St Paul on Sunday 15 November 2009.
The enrolment service will also officially welcome the newly-formed Fordingbridge and Ringwood Division of St John Ambulance.
Emma Smart, Superintendent of the new Division, said: ‘This will be a really special moment for our members. Our Badgers will be officially welcomed into the charity and we will also celebrate the renaissance of Fordingbridge as part of the new, merged unit.
‘Our members have so many opportunities from helping their community to seeing concerts and football matches as a duty First aider.’
She added: ‘Children have a huge range of activities to choose from. Badgers are awarded Badges for completing tasks and their ultimate goal is the Super Badger award.
‘Our Cadets are given extra responsibilities and can take part in adventures such as Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.’
The new division has been formed by the merger of two divisions.
