At the Annual Council meeting on 6th May 2009, Town Councillors unanimously elected Councillor Christine Ford as Town Mayor.
Councillor Ford is the first lady Mayor of Ringwood and also the first female Chairman of Ringwood Town Council since it was founded in 1974.
On being elected, Councillor Ford thanked all Councillors for the great honour that they had bestowed on her.
She paid tribute to the retiring Mayor, Councillor Brian Terry and his wife Cllr Jacqui Terry for their marvellous work over the past two years.
Councillor Brian Terry was elected Deputy Town Mayor, and he too thanked all Councillors for his appointment. |
