By working closely with its County and District Councils, Ringwood Town Council has been able to achieve significant improvements to the Drop-in Centre run on a voluntarily basis by Jenny & Phil Critchlow at Carvers Recreation Centre.
The Town Council, with support from the District Council, had already carried out initial refurbishment works to make the former tennis pavilion fit for purpose.
It is now undertaking a second major refurbishment. County Councillor Nigel Clarke is allocating over the £2,100 of his personal local projects allowance towards complete refurbishment of the toilets.
Councillor Jeremy Heron has awarded his £500 District Council local projects allowance for improving the roof insulation on the building and District Councillor Steve Rippon-Swaine has allocated his £500 to improvements to the security of the building and internal furnishings.
Each of these have been topped up by the Town Council to make sure that the works can be fully completed.
A formal presentation of the cheques to the Town Council, who have forward funded the projects, and the opportunity to view the works will be at 5.00 pm at the Drop-in Centre on Carvers
Recreation ground on Friday 27th March.
At the same time, District Councillor Christine Ford will be handing over her cheque for £500 towards the new seat that has been erected on the Bickerley for the benefit of use of the village green. |
