The Danny Cracknell Pocket Park

This page was last updated on Monday, 9 March, 2009 10:58 AM

To commemorate the enormous contribution made by the late Danny Cracknell, the Town Council decided that a part of the Bickerley acquired recently, which Danny had been instrumental in purchasing, together with the adjoining Pocket Park, should be know as ‘Danny Cracknell Park.’

Some residents adjoining the Pocket Park expressed a view to the Council that the phrase ‘Pocket Park’ had much to commend it and, following further consideration, the Town Council has now decided to amend the name of the park to ‘The Danny Cracknell Pocket Park.

The official naming will take place at 11am on Saturday 18th April, exactly one year after Danny passed away.

Councillor Brian Terry, the Town Mayor, believes that by holding the official naming ceremony on that date it will be a fitting tribute to Danny’s contribution to the town.

Danny’s widow, Di Cracknell, together with Danny’s family and friends will all be present with Councillors for the official naming ceremony.
