After expending energy on the golf course on the 10th July with the Annual Danny Cracknell Challenge Tournament, Ringwood residents are invited to less strenuous, in most cases, entertainment the following day, on Saturday 11th July.
“It’s Festival,” said Councillor Brian Terry, Chairman of the Festival Committee, “which starts with a golf tournament for which entries are still available just for the dedicated.
But on Saturday walk around the stalls managed by the charities and sporting organisations in the town and get to know what we have on offer.
You never know, you might just want to join one of them.” Interspersed with charity stalls, the Town Council sponsored Festival Committee is providing street entertainment in the way of bands, soloist, children’s dance, street entertainment and other attractions, including low cost fair ground rides for young children.
On the Saturday evening, for the Classical music lovers, the Salisbury Sinfonia will be playing in the Church of St Peter & St Paul in the Market Place.
At the opposite extreme, local groups will be delivering a Rock Concert in the open air on the Bickerley Village Green, where earlier in the day Ringwood’s own wet ‘It’s a Knockout’ will take place.
“We hope that the weather will be fine for us and that residents of Ringwood and the adjoining villages will turn out in force to enjoy the entertainment and make the effort of all the volunteers very worthwhile,” added Councillor Terry. |
