Appeal for witnesses to pedal cyclist collision

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision between a car and pedal cyclist at Ringwood which left a teenage boy with serious injuries.

 

At about 8.25am, (Friday, 12 September 2008) the cyclist and a red Vauxhall Astra collided in Parsonage Barn Lane outside the entrance to Ringwood Health and Leisure Centre. 


The cyclist, who is believed to be a 16-year-old Ringwood youth, was taken to Southampton General Hospital with suspected life threatening head injuries.

 

Parsonage Barn Lane is closed at its junction with Mount Pleasant and Bishops Court to allow a thorough investigation of the scene


The driver of the Astra, a 58-year-old Ringwood woman, was not injured.

 

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident to contact them at Totton Roads Policing Unit, quoting Operation Fernglade, on 0845 045 45 45 or the anonymous Crimestoppers charity line on 0800 555 111.
