Following the success of this year’s Hampshire Food Festival held throughout July, organisers Hampshire Fare are keen to encourage more businesses and organisations across Hampshire to take part and host an event during the 2009 Hampshire Food Festival, which will run from July 1st-31st.
Research indicates that The Hampshire Food Festival economically benefited Hampshire, bringing in an estimated £2.45 million of visitor spending during the Festival. Over 85,700 people were attracted to the Festival’s 120 different events, held at dozens of different venues across Hampshire during July.
Events were organised by food and drink producers, farmers, brewers, farmers’ markets, pubs, restaurants, town centres, libraries, local businesses and communities, which opened their doors to the public to host events such as cookery demonstrations, guided tours, open days, hand-on cookery workshops, special menus and street festivals.
To discuss how to get involved and the benefits of taking part, contact Sophie Boxall at Hampshire Fare on 01962 847098/07725 445042, sophie.boxall@hants.gov.uk or visit the food festival page at www.hampshirefare.co.uk.
The Hampshire Food Festival is Hampshire Fare’s showcase event, backed by Hampshire County Council, SEEDA and supported by Hampshire Fare’s Corporate Partners Ecover, Blake Lapthorn, Fuller Smith and Turner, Newsquest and Wave 105.
