Witnesses sought following a public order incident in Ringwood

Police are appealing for witnesses following a public order incident in Market Place, Ringwood.

An altercation took place in the middle of the road near a takeaway between 12.30 and 1.15am on Saturday, March 29 involving a group of youths and adults.

A 39-year-old local man sustained bruising and swelling to his right eye and cuts and bruises to the rest of his body as a result of the incident.

He was taken by ambulance to Bournemouth Hospital for treatment.

Police Constable Paula Andrews of Ringwood police station said: “We are particularly keen to trace the driver of a taxi which arrived at the scene at the time of the incident.

The driver may hold vital information.

“I would urge the taxi driver and anyone else who could assist with the investigation to contact us.”
