Efforts are in full swing to ensure that all the households and businesses in Ringwood receive the consultation document which could help re-shape the town centre’s Furlong car park area.
The document offers people the opportunity to look at four different options for the future of the car park, two involving major additions and improvements and two not so major, and has been delivered to most homes.
But the council has been made aware that a number of properties have not yet had their copy delivered and efforts are now being made to rectify the situation in conjunction with the company carrying out the distribution.
District Council planning portfolio holder, Councillor Chris Treleaven, said this week: “We are very keen that the residents and, indeed, the business people in Ringwood, have the opportunity to see the options for the Furlong car park, which we are presenting in this document, and give us their responses in the pre-paid envelope.”
To ensure that everyone has a chance to express a preference, the original deadline for responses – October 14 – is being extended to the end of October.
In addition, the council has made more copies available at the District Council Offices in Ringwood, at the Ringwood Town Council offices and at the town’s Meeting House Centre, where there is an exhibition of the options. |
