Hampshire Constabulary
Police in Ringwood are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked as he walked along Crow Lane.

The incident occurred just before 11pm on Friday, September 21, a few hundred meteres north of its junction with Crow Arch Lane.

Two men jumped out of bushes and grappled the 22-year-old local man to the ground. They ran off after a passing car flashed its lights.

Fortunately the man was not injured in what appears to be an unprovoked attack but he was shaken by the ordeal.

One of the assailants was white and the other one black.

Investigating officers are appealing for anyone with information about the attack to come forward.  The would particularly like to speak to the driver of the car that drove past the attackers, as it is likely they will have vital information.

Anyone with information should phone the CID office at Lyndhurst on 0845 045 45 45 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
