Not an image of Ringwood we want to portray
Vandalism
Vandalism
Vandalism which has been carried out on the map boards at the Furlong Car Park
Not three months after they were erected, two of the new map boards in the Furlong Car Park have been vandalised, one for the second time.

One map has been removed from its frame and the second has had the complete frame ripped off the post; both maps are nowhere to be found.

The purpose of these map boards is to show visitors where the shopping areas are, and provide details of things to see and do in and around the town to encourage them to stay longer or come back and visit again.

However, the image portrayed by the missing signs is one that is more likely to turn visitors away and taint their memories of time spent in the town.

Roger Bettle, Chairman of the Signage Project Group said: “A lot of effort was put into getting these signs in place and I am greatly disappointed to hear about this mindless vandalism.

We are working hard to make improvements in the town and this is not an image that we want to portray. I would like to make a plea to anyone who witnesses any form of vandalism to please report it to the relevant authority – we must not let people get away with it.”
