Police in Ringwood investigating arson at a barn are appealing for witnesses.

Officers were called to a blaze at Lyne Farm in Nouale Lane on the evening of Wednesday, October 4. It is believed the fire started between 7.45 and 8.15pm.

More than £30,000 worth of damage was caused to the barn and farm machinery stored inside. Acting Det Sgt Matt Taylor said: “This is a very serious offence.

The fire has caused substantial damage and serious financial loss to the victim. If any persons or livestock were in or around the building at the time of the incident, the outcome could have been much worse.”

DS Taylor added: “We would ask anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident, or saw anyone acting suspiciously to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Ringwood CID on 0845 045 45 45, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
