Ringwood's future - do you want to be part of it?

“Jobs, traffic and housing, do you want them or don’t you want them” said Councillor Brian Terry, the Chairman of Ringwood Town Council’s Town Plan Co-ordinating Committee, as he launched distribution of another questionnaire asking for the public’s views on these topics.

“The Town Council is preparing a Town Plan which will contain the framework for the town for the next 20 years” said Councillor Terry.  “The Town Council believes that in the past decisions on the shape of the town have been made by a relatively few number of people with very little input from the local residents.  We want to try to reverse that trend and our latest Ringwood’s Future questionnaire asks you to tell us whether there are enough high value jobs in the town, whether traffic is a problem and whether there are enough two and three bedroom low cost houses being built and if there are, are they in the right places.  With residents help we can try to make Ringwood a better town for everyone.”

The information obtained from the questionnaire will help to formulate the new Town Plan.  It can also be used to encourage New Forest District Council to adopt policies that are supported by Ringwood townspeople.

The Newsletter is available on the Town Council’s website at www.ringwood.gov.uk and the questionnaire which is also on the website can be returned to the Council electronically.
