Town Mayor supports the youth
Ringwood’s new Town Mayor, Cllr Danny Cracknell, was delighted to lend his support to the re-establishment of the Ringwood Youth Club Management Committee, which will be holding its first meeting on Thursday 30 June 2005 at the Town Council’s offices at ‘Greenways’, Christchurch Road, Ringwood.

Danny, who has been involved in many youth activities over the years, has said that the town now has a golden opportunity to fully re-establish a good Youth Club for the town following the worries over its closure last year when Hampshire County Council reviewed its funding support for the service.

The Town Council has weighed in with an initial grant to get the Youth Club Management Committee up and running and with Town Councillor Brian Terry, the Chairman of the former Management Committee, the Mayor is urging adults in the town to come forward to attend the meeting and to serve on the Management Committee.

“This is an exciting time for the youth of the town and it is one that we should not lose” said Danny.

The Youth Club has professional Youth Workers and the need is for more members of a Management Committee that will set the direction and lead this youth facility into a prosperous future. No prior notice of attending the meeting is required and anyone interested should simply be at ‘Greenways’ for 7pm on 30 June.
