Stone the crows! These new bins ban birds!
In a bid to beat the birds that pull out the rubbish, Ringwood Town Council has installed new “letterbox” type litter bins in the War Memorial Gardens.

Local fish shop owner Darryl Roome has sponsored one of the bins. Pictured here with Councillor Norman Light, Chairman of the Council’s Recreation, Leisure & Open Spaces Committee is David Pound, Manager of Darryl’s Fish Bar in Christchurch Road.

The Gardens are a popular place for students from Ringwood School to eat their lunch, but crows scavenging from the old open bins and leaving wrapping paper blowing around spoilt the area.

Cllr Light said “ I am delighted that the Town Council and businesses in the town are working together for the benefit of all. We hope this leads to other projects.”
