Floods
“Hopefully, for properties at The Bickerley, flooding will be an historical event when the Environment Agency has completed the flood defence works for Ringwood later this year”, says Town Mayor Councillor Danny Cracknell.

But, he says, like everything nowadays, we are having to suffer a little grief whilst the works are carried out.

Bickerley residents who should benefit from the works, are, for the next few months, going to be faced with the prospect of the compound for the flood defence works on
one side of The Bickerley and the building work for the extension of the elderly people’s accommodation on the other side.

Both projects are essential, even though they are causing short term inconvenience to the Bickerley residents.

However, as far as The Bickerley is concerned, the Town Council’s agreement with the Environment Agency provides for the whole of the site to be fully reinstated on the completion of the works in about three or four months time.
