About Mobile Libraries
The Mobile Library Service provides access to Hampshire County Library for small communities that do not have a branch library. Anyone is welcome to join the library service and membership is free. You will need to complete a simple form and show some form of identification. Children of any age may join, they will need to ask a parent or guardian to complete a membership form.

A specialist mobile service, Community Library Link, serves residential and nursing homes, sheltered accommodation and day centres.

The mobile libraries carry a selection of novels, information, large print and children's books. Space on the vehicles is limited so reference books and more specialised topics are held at the branches and major reference libraries. However, you will be surprised just how much is available on your mobile library!

Books are usually issued for four weeks, although some mobiles stamp the date of the next visit as a reminder. Books may be renewed by visiting the vehicle if they are not required by another reader. Titles that are in heavy demand are issued for two weeks and cannot be renewed. Please help us keep the stock circulating by returning your books promptly.
Please note - Books borrowed from the mobile libraries MUST be returned to them for the purposes of stock control and the recording of loans. They cannot normally be accepted at branch libraries. Similarly books borrowed from other branches or mobiles cannot be accepted.

Requests can be made for books which are not held on the mobile library. A fee is charged to adults but not to children.

Should the service be cancelled for any reason, we make every effort to advise our users. If the service is being temporarily suspended for vehicle maintenance this will be advised as far in advance as possible.
