Ringwood School and Ringwood Town Council is applying for Fair Trade status for the town. Following a recent Town Council meeting, we are conducting an audit of Ringwood businesses so that a free Fair Trade Directory* for the town can be created and one of the goals for Fair Trade status can be achieved. *The directory will be both paper based and internet based. Would you mind answering the following questions?

Definition
The Fair Trade Foundation, Oxfam and Traidcraft have agreed the following common definition of fair trade:

Fair Trade is an alternative approach to conventional international trade. It is a trading partnership which aims at sustainable development for excluded and disadvantaged producers. It seeks to do this by providing better trading conditions, by awareness raising and by campaigning.

Fair Trade products should contain the above symbol and includes these (mainly food) products: Fruit, Coffee, Chocolate, Cotton, Tea, Sugar, Fruit juice, Honey, Nuts, Snacks, Preserves, Spreads, Rice, Flowers, Wines/beers, Sports balls
