| Walking in the Countryside |
Discover Hampshire's rich downlands, tranquil valleys, charming villages, historic cities and towns; learn more about your countryside, wildlife and heritage - our comprehensive guided walks programme † (This is a page from the Hampshire County Council Web Site).
The walks cover the whole of Hampshire and part of West Sussex, giving you the chance to get to know the countryside better and to explore more distant parts of the county.
Guided walks † take place on most weekends and weekdays throughout the year, led by local guides who bring the countryside to life with their knowledge and enthusiasm.
Health Walks encourage people of all abilities to walk more. They are social, fun and free. Most routes are flat and on good surfaces and last about an hour.
All walks are led by a qualified walk leader who will help you to find your own pace. There is usually no limit to the numbers who can attend, so there is no necessity to book. Dogs are often welcome, and toilet facilities are often available at the start. If anyone wishes to benefit from Health Walks, either join the walkers at the start of the walks or ring the contact numbers for further information.
Many of your guides are volunteers and give their time for your enjoyment, so please take note of their instructions. Come suitably dressed and wear stout footwear, as paths can be muddy.
Remember, walking is good for your health
