An ideal site for walking or picnicking, within a natural habitat of wildlife and meadow flowers.

Walking

The many footpaths in the Ringwood area are regularly surveyed and well used by members of the local Footpath Society.  These footpaths give walkers the opportunity to explore the delights of the surrounding New Forest and farmland.  The Avon Valley Footpath links Christchurch in the south with Salisbury in the north, a distance of 34 miles.  Ringwood is well placed on the pathway and ideal for an overnight stop.

A Public Rights of Way leaflet and details of walks can be obtained from the Visitors' Information Centre. ( A downloadable version of these leaflets is available in the Walks section of the website).

Fishing

Ringwood is an excellent location for fishing, both on the River Avon and surrounding lakes.  Fishing permits and further information can be obtained from Avon Angling Centre Tel: (01425) 461308 and Ringwood Tackle Tel: (01425) 475155, both situated in West Street.

Ringwood Health & Leisure boasts many excellent facilities, including a 25 metre pool and 10 metre teaching pool, a five court main hall, fitness suite, 2 artificial turf pitches, general activity room, sunbeds, sauna and steam, treatment/assessment room and a bar and cafeteria.
