Kathryn Stott is considered to be one of Britain's most versatile and imaginative musicians. She studied at the Royal College of Music in London and has appeared as a concerto soloist and recitalist in Britain and throughout the world. She is much sought after as a chamber-music colleague by some of the world's leading instrumentalists, such as cellist Yo-Yo Ma, violinist Janine Jansen, saxophonist Federico Mondelci and the pianist Noriko Ogawa. She has also collaborated with many leading string quartets, including the Lindsays, in whose farewell concert series she was invited to appear.
Her wide range of musical interests is reflected in her plans, which include the Gershwin Concerto at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Spectrum chamber concerts in Carnegie Hall, New York and European tours in which she partners Janine Jansen and Truls Mørk.
In 1995, Kathryn was appointed Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Arts et Lettres by the French Government as a result of her creative vision as director/performer at the festival Fauré and the French Connection in Manchester. Her performance of Mozart's D Minor Concerto, K466 was featured as a BBC Music Magazine cover disc.
